Ingredients

Butter

Orange

Icing Sugar

Unsweetened cocoa

50 gms

Caster sugar

100 gms

Poppy seeds

1 tbsp

Icing sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 170c. Grease 24 cm round spring sided cake tin.
2. Beat egg yolks, soft butter, rind of orange and icing sugar until thick and smooth, then fold in cocoa.
3. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form, sprinkle in sugar slowly while beating and continue to mix until thick and glossy.
4. Fold in seeds followed by the egg whites and gently combine.
5. Spoon batter into tin and bake for 70 minutes, remove from oven and cool in tin.
6. Turn out and dust top with the extra icing sugar prior to serving.
