District Grant
Emails sent by the District Grants Committee suggest that both of our applications have been approved locally and are awaiting final acceptance from Foundation HQ.
We will wait to see the next round of communications which hopefully will give us the go ahead to undertake both projects. Fingers crossed.

Tennyson Dunes Open day
Thank you to Alison, Tracey, Ros, Andrew and Gary for their help with the Tennyson Dunes open day BBQ.
The weather was excellent and we had a steady sales thru our time. Our gross take was $455 with net profit of $345. Will need to note for next year to have some vegetarian sausages as there were a few requests.

YOUTH EXCHANGE STUDENT REPORT - Samuele
Packed up and moved to Neil & Julia Merkel for 5 weeks
Rachel will be talking to us about Special Needs Education in the UK. It will be interesting to compare with what we see in Australia.
19 years experience teaching primary education with QTS.
9 years as Special Educational Needs Coordinator with experience developing and working in enhanced provisions.
Qualified with the National Award for SEN Coordination in 2015 and completed Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing. Member of the British Psychology Society. Currently, Primary Lead SENCo for NOVA Education Trust, since 2022.
Mental Health First Aider. 5 years as SEND trainer for Initial Teacher Training.
On Tuesday 29 October we will be fortunate to have City of Charles Sturt Mayor, Angela Evans speak to our meeting.
This will be a "partners" night and other Club members are more than welcome to attend (please let us know for catering purposes).
A committed leader providing responsible governance in a framework of strategic planning, enhancing relationships and fostering community connections.
Key areas of interest include developing effective governance structures for Council, implementing long term financial stability, facilitating economic development, contributing to planning reform to position council as a leader, conducting effective community engagement and creating partnerships with other levels of government, the community and the private sector to better serve the Charles Sturt community.
I have experience in the business sector as a small business operator as well as extensive experience from working within the Community Service Sector.
The Club had loosely discussed the thought of getting a shade cloth installed over the playground. We would need Council assistance.
A couple of wandering members noticed that installation works are in progress! Not sure how this has happened, but ours is not to reason why...
Now there this a new covering of bark chips, so things are happening.
Jean is collating a list of those who would like pavers (inscribed with names) to be installed. We have to have a reasonable number (20-30) to make it cost effective. Please let Jean know.
