  • 1 November Melbourne Cup carousel $25 per head
  • Yvonne did a voluntary Meals on Wheels trip last week and will pick up 21/11/22 and 19/12/22
Community (Ros)
  • Meeting for Kids on the Lake will be held Monday, 31 October 1922 at 5.30 at Bartley Tavern
  • 4 December 2022 Kids at the Lake. Thank you to Brian for obtaining support from local businesses
  • 11 December 2022 NRM have asked us to help them with a Xmas Party
International
  • End Polio Day was 24 October 2022 but can still donate any time.
  • 12 November 2022 - DIK
Youth (Robin)
  • Dianne Parcel Awards late November.  Letter to be sent out to schools soon)
Fundraising (Gary)
  • Nothing to report
Vocation & Environment (Alison)
  • Committee is chairing for the month of November
  • Alison will contact Monarto Zoo regarding helping with fence painting
  • Feedback from Rypen students was good learning content, really enjoyed Mental Health
  • Suggest improvement on the food

  • 1 November – Melbourne Cup Day – BBQ at Carousel
  • 8 November – Sam Jacobs, better known in the football fraternity as Sauce, ex Crows player

  • 6 December – West Lakes Primary School BBQ – back-up date is 7 December if bad weather.
Shed is closed down.

  • President elect for next year is Rosie Erasmus
  • Nomination forms will be given out next week for 2023/24 board members

  • In place of Kris Kringle this year we will ask a donation towards - Peter Neilson Leukemia Foundation and a Children’s Charity
  • Rotary Club Kidman Park joint meeting 28 February 2023 and speaker is Dennis Bunnik from Bunnik Travel

Serves: 12
Prep Time: 30 min 
Cook Time: 3 ½  hrs 
 

Ingredients:

1

Leg of Ham

24

Whole cloves for studding

½ cup

Orange juice

1/3 cup

Brown sugar

¼ cup

Dijon style mustard

1/3 cup

honey

 

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 180c.
2. Remove skin from ham making sure you leave fat intact and then score fat only in a diamond pattern and stud with cloves in the centre of each diamond.
3. Place ham in baking dish on a wire rack to keep clear of the bottom and pour in about 1 litre of boiling water.
 4. Seal with al foil and place in the oven cooking for 1 1/2 hours.
 5. While this is cooking place orange juice, sugar, mustard and honey in a saucepan and simmer over a medium heat for 15 minutes until it thickens.
 6. Remove foil from ham and brush with the glaze before returning to the oven or in your kettle bbq.
 7. Cook for a further 1 1/2 hours coating with the glaze every 10 minutes until you have a golden crusty layer.
 NOTE-------Serve with turkey and vegetables for your Xmas dinner or with salads.
