Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker Stephanie Malan, a Midwife by profession, gave an interesting talk about the work of The Village Co.  The Village Co. works to show mothers they are not alone, looking to ease the burdens they face such as domestic violence, homelessness, mental health issues, and drug dependence among other travails they face.  They support new mothers by providing a bag containing all hygiene products for mother and baby, new knickers, baby clothes and wraps, laundry powder, Milk kit and, a Nourished Week Voucher (a week’s worth of chef-made meals by Chefs on Wheels.  The Village Co. is well worth supporting.

Blanket Revolution  by Al
Drawing on experience with her previous Club, Environmental & Vocational Director chased down used blankets for repurposing.
Community Help And Togetherness (CHATS) in Port Adelaide provides support for those sleeping rough and tough and those who are socially isolated.

Alison reached out to them, with positive response.

So, the team gathered both before and after the meeting and sorted, collated, folded and packed blankets. Ones that were beyond repair were bagged for distribution to local Vet Clinics/Animal Shelters, with the remainder sent through to CHATS.

well done Alison, and also to prospective member Tracey for capturing snaps.
