Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club (SSLSC)
- The Rotary Club of West Lakes has been involved with the SSLSC for many years. This initially stems from two past members (Brian Page & Max Christie) who were also members of the SSLSC.
- Each year our Club provides two prizes in the memory of Brian and Max that recognise those female & male Life Savers who have demonstrated true Club spirit. The funds are the put to use to a project of the recipient’s choice.
- Over the years, RCWL has also provided funds (assisted by Rotary District grants) for the following:
- Beach wheelchair to enable disabled children to access the beach;
- Nippers boards to support the SSLSC youth events;
- Trailer to transport equipment between the Club and the beach.
- SSLSC members also assist RCWL in our Christmas Fun for Kids event, to provide set-up and break-down services.
