Youth (Robin – apology)
  • Sue Kendle advised Rypen interviews conducted last week with the three applicants, 2 from St Michaels and 1 from Nazareth 
  • Rypen banning mobile phones for the 3 days at camp.
Fundraising (Gary)
  • Thank you to Alison and co for the quilts donated to Ronald MacDonald House who were incredibly grateful for them.
  • 11 October club BBQ and dessert at the path of memories from 6pm - $25.00 per head, bring friends and family, chair, drink, and a glass.
  • Ros/Steve to pick up BBQ and trailer

Other Business
  • Allan Warner (RCHB)  – Largs Bay Wheelchair project, is looking for volunteers - handypersons, mechanical skills each Tuesday morning from 8.30 to midday.
  • The ship "City of Adelaide" is looking for retired active volunteers who could help to do tours or PR work
Guest Speaker – Matt Cowdrey AO MP
 
Matt spoke on his experiences as a Paralympian.  He competed in several Paralypic Games as well as Commonwealth Games.  He has won a number of gold and other medals.  He commented on how Paralympian games have changed, both in management and community acceptance. 
He is currently a Member of the South Australian Parliament.

Gourmet Gary’s Banana Bread
Blowfly Corner
 
 
Serves: 8
Prep Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 60 mins
 
500gms
Over ripe bananas mashed
1 ½ cup
Plain flourr
½ cup 
Self raising flour
1 tsp 
Bicarb. soda
1
Pinch salt
125gms
Butter
125gms
Brown sugar
2
Eggs lightly beaten
1 tsp
Cinnamon powder
 

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 180c and lightly grease a loaf tin. 

2. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl then stir in eggs and banana. 

3. Gently mix in flours, cinnamon and bicarbonate soda until just moistened then pour into the loaf tin. 

4 Cook for about 60 minutes and is cooked when you lightly press top of loaf and it springs back.
